Medicine students of the UGR celebrate the V Congress of Biosanitary Research
The Academy of Internal Students of the Faculty of Medicine of Granada organizes the V Congress of Biosanitary Research Students (CEIBS), which will be held from March 13 to 16 at the academic headquarters of the Health Technology Park and FIBAO and the ibs. GRANADA participate as collaborators of the event.
The CEIBS is conceived as a non-profit scientific congress, whose objective is to promote innovation and biomedical research to university students. Adela Serrano, president, explained that “the intention is to bring the student closer, truthful, practical and multidisciplinary to the world of scientific congresses; therefore, we encourage active participation by presenting original works”.
In this way, attendees can present oral communications and scientific posters, which may be published in the scientific journal Archivos de Medicina Universitaria, "with the curricular value that this provides". In addition, cash prizes, scholarships and online courses from the CTO Academy will be awarded.
It is precisely the quality of the work that has determined the success of the four previous editions, making this Congress a national benchmark, bringing together the best of the Health Sciences community for a few days.
In this sense, the CEIBS will have speakers of the highest level, such as Verónica Casado (recognized as the best family doctor in the world by the World Organization of Family Physicians) and Mario Delgado (expert in immunology and inflammatory processes, and director of the López-Neyra Institute of Parasitology and Biomedicine). In addition, the program includes hands-on workshops, which explore often shallow fields in degree programs.
The congress, supported by public and private organizations such as the Inmaculada Hospital of the HLA Group, Caja Rural Granada and Oximesa, allows economic or curricular reasons not to be an impediment to the student's training. HLA Inmaculada, in addition to its sponsorship and collaboration, offers the possibility of carrying out clinical practices in its facilities, thus demonstrating its commitment to the University of Granada and the students of Health Sciences (Medicine, Psychology, Pharmacy, Nutrition and Nursing) being a benchmark for future professionals in this sector and one of the engines of socio-economic development in the country.
In this celebration of the V Anniversary of the CEIBS, the organizers continue to show the same enthusiasm as at the beginning: "Our main desire is for young people to understand that research is not something distant and independent of their training: we want to keep alive the hope that Extraordinary results can be achieved with hard work.”
