Epidemiología y Salud Pública / IBS-E10
DEMAP es un grupo de investigación de la Escuela Andaluza de Salud Pública formado por especialistas en Estadística, Salud Pública y Sistemas de Información, con amplia experiencia en Geografía de la Salud, estudios ecológicos y análisis de datos en áreas pequeñas. Las siglas que dan nombre al grupo corresponden a Distribución Espacial de la Morbi-mortalidad en Áreas Pequeñas, una de las principales actividades desarrolladas por los miembros del equipo. Desde 1999, DEMAP trabaja en varias líneas de investigación que han permitido conocer las diferencias sociales, demográficas y sanitarias que existen entre áreas geográficas de España. El principal propósito de estas actividades es contribuir a la puesta en marcha de intervenciones para la mejora de la salud de la población, evaluar sus logros y favorecer políticas sanitarias centradas en la prevención y la planificación de recursos sanitarios.
