The Call for R + D + i Aid in Health Andalusia 2014 will be published soon
The publication of the Andalusian Public Progress and Health Foundation is expected to publish in the middle of this month of November the Call for the granting of subsidies for the financing of biomedical research, development and innovation (R + D + i) and in health sciences in Andalusia 2014, for the modality of research projects.
IMPORTANT: The Principal Investigator and ALL collaborators are required to be in possession of the electronic signature in force. An updated curriculum vitae of each of the members of the research team will be required, validated with their digital signature..
Who can request it?
They will be able to request the aid:
- The foundations attached to the Network of Research Management Foundations of the Andalusian Public Health System (RFGI-SSPA).
- The companies and public agencies of the Junta de Andalucía attached to the Ministry of Equality, Health and Social Policies.
What requirements should Principal Investigators have?
He will be the main person responsible for the technical scientific execution of the project. People with a university degree who belong to any of the following sections may be principal researchers:
- Those who carry out their research activity in health centers of the SSPA and who are contractually linked to the SSPA, to the foundations that manage the research of the SSPA or with a position as a professor linked to a public university in Andalusia.
- Those who carry out their research activity in non-health centers of the SSPA and in research centers and institutes participated by the Ministry of Equality, Health and Social Policies and their contractual relationship is linked to the SSPA or to the foundations that manage the research of the SSPA.
- Those who belong to public universities in Andalusia, and are not linked, or who develop their research activity in research centers and institutes participated by the Ministry of Equality, Health and Social Policies and CIBER nodes in centers dependent on it, and their contractual relationship does not is linked to the SSPA. In this case, at least 50% of the total hours dedicated to the project must fall on personnel from points 1 and 2 above.
How much can be requested?
Maximum € 40.000. Goods and services, personnel expenses, travel and allowances will be financed. No clinical drug trials will be funded.
How long should the projects have been submitted?
Maximum two years.
How is it requested?
The request will be submitted electronically through the following link. The application form must be completed, which will be signed by those who hold the legal representation of the applicant entity, accompanied by the following documentation:
- Conference proceedings technical scientist of the project, validated with a digital certificate by the main researcher.
- Resume Updated vitae of each of the members of the research team, validated with a digital certificate by them. If it is available and updated on the Investiga + portal, its presentation will not be necessary.
- In your case, patient information sheet and informed consent form to be presented for signature to the people who are subjects of the study at the time.
- Authorization of the care management of the center to which the main researcher of the project belongs or, if there is no such person, of the direction of the center. In the case of healthcare centers, the healthcare department must certify that the research project conforms to the R & D & I lines established for the Integrated Management Unit or Area within which the project is to be developed. This authorization will be made through the computer application"Management of calls", with digital certificate. At the time of application, it will not be necessary to present the certificate of the ethics committee, only those projects selected for financing must present it.
Evaluation criteria:
The evaluation of the projects is divided into two phases:
Scientific-technical evaluation:
- Novelty and relevance of the proposal (being assessed as suitable or not suitable).
- Scientific technical quality and feasibility (up to 45 points).
- Scientific history of the research team (up to 20 points).
- Applicability of the results (up to 10 points).
- Only those projects that are considered "suitable" with respect to the novelty and relevance of the proposal will obtain a score.
Evaluation of the adequacy to the I + i strategies (up to 25 points).
- Emerging researchers (up to 8 points).
- Professional groups of Family and Community Medicine, Public Health or Nursing (up to 8 points).
- Multidisciplinary groups (up to 3 points), understood as those formed by health and non-health professionals, according to Law 44/2003, of November 21, on the organization of health professions, inter-level groups (primary and hospital care) and groups that integrate professionals from both healthcare centers and monographic centers of the Ministry of Equality, Health and Social Policies (CABIMER, GENYO, BIONAND, MEDINA and LARCEL). The data will be checked by FPS professionals.
- Health research in diagnostic or therapeutic lines in advanced therapies (up to 3 points).
- Research that allows the direct transfer of its results to clinical practice through intervention studies (up to 3 points).
- Research that has a high probability of obtaining protectable results through the Intellectual or Industrial Property registry, not considering among them those derived from scientific publications (up to 2 points).
- Research with companies for the development of new products and services that result in an improvement in the health of citizens (up to 3 points).
- The participation of teams in which the main researcher has obtained, in previous grants financed by the Ministry of Equality, Health and Social Policies, the Andalusian Health Service or the Progreso y Salud Foundation, a positive assessment (sufficient or higher) in the ex post evaluations of the results or the end of the project (up to 2 points).
- The participation of women in biomedical research as principal investigators, if the mean participation of women as principal investigators in their evaluation panel is less than 45% (up to 2 points).
- The geographical equidistribution of research resources in Andalusia (up to 1,5 points).
Only those projects that in the scientific-technical evaluation obtain a score that is in decile four, in the sum of the scores obtained in the criteria of scientific-technical quality and viability and applicability of the results, ordered by higher to lower.

About the principal investigator:
You cannot be in a period of specialized training at healthcare centers at the time of application submission or be a grant-holder.
You can only participate in a research project presented in this call, and on the date of provisional resolution you will not be able to have any active project for 2015 as a principal researcher financed in competitive calls. About collaborators: One researcher You can only appear as a collaborator, with shared dedication, in two research projects in this call.
Management of biological samples:
In the event that the research project uses biological samples from a research collection, the collection's registration code must be provided in the Carlos III Health Institute Collections Catalog. If the samples come from a biobank, the commitment of said Biobank must be provided, which must be registered
as such in the National Registry of Biobanks.

Other aspects to consider:
The enjoyment of these aids is compatible with any other aid received from public or private, national or international funds, intended for the same activity as long as the total sum of the aid received does not exceed the total cost of the subsidized activity.
The amount of the aid will be increased by 15% of indirect costs, as a contribution margin, which will be allocated to the management expenses of the beneficiary entities of the research projects.
The following will not be financed: stationery, repair and maintenance of equipment, hardware or software, or financial or in-kind remuneration to people participating in the project (patients, team members, etc.)
