The event, in which more than 500 scientists will participate, is once again fully face-to-face and includes talks, workshops and other recreational activities

Science will once again fill the streets of Granada, and of 400 more European cities, next September 30 in a new edition of the European Night of Researchers, which this year fully recovers face-to-face attendance after the last two years of pandemic. More than 500 male and female researchers will present their work to the public at the more than 20 stands that will be installed on the Paseo del Salón and that will host talks, workshops, experiments and other fun activities to show the more human side of science.
In total, some 300 activities have been scheduled this year that will take place throughout the day and that today have been presented at the Granada City Hall with the presence of the Mayor of Granada, Francisco Cuenca; the delegate of the University, Research and Innovation of the Junta de Andalucía in Granada, María José Martín; the vice-rector for University Extension of the University of Granada, Víctor Jesús Medina; the director of the López Neyra Institute of Parasitology and Biomedicine (IPBLN), Fuencisla Matesanz; the scientific director of the Andalusian Public Health System Biobank, José Manuel Puerta, and the director of the Discover Foundation, Teresa Cruz.
The activities scheduled for the morning of September 30 will have the youngest as protagonists: some 400 schoolchildren from different educational centers in Granada will visit the stands to carry out workshops and participate in different activities. One of the objectives of the European Night of Researchers is precisely to awaken scientific vocations in children and young people. In the afternoon, from 17:00 p.m. to 22:00 p.m., activities open to the public will be held, which will conclude with a free access show called 'Flamenco Night', by Irene Rueda and her flamenco group, from 22.00:XNUMX p.m. on the stage installed in the Paseo del Salón.
These activities at street level will be complemented by a program of guided tours of the capital, for which it will be necessary to book in advance, and which will take the participants to discover, for example, the fossils of the city of Granada, the scientific collections of the Department of Zoology of the Faculty of Sciences or to carry out a geo-educational route through the monuments of the capital.
As a novelty, in this edition actions have also been designed with educational centers, with the name of 'Night in the classrooms', which will extend throughout the school year and which, in the case of Granada, will be around 20 activities approximately .
The University of Granada will also hold activities in Ceuta and Melilla, with around 70 activities in each of the autonomous cities including posters, workshops and micro-meetings.
