The latest advances in Advanced Therapies and Biomedical Technologies are the focus of a scientific symposium organized by the ibs.GRANADA
In this meeting, a multidisciplinary and comprehensive approach to new biomedical therapies and technologies focused on tissue engineering, biomedical devices and pharmacology was carried out.
The Biosanitary Research Institute of Granada (ibs.GRANADA) has organized on December 17 at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Granada, the second edition of its scientific symposium on the latest advances in Advanced Therapies and Biomedical Technologies.
This meeting, promoted by the Area of Advanced Therapies and Biomedical Technologies of ibs.GRANADA, whose leaders are professors Miguel Alaminos and María del Mar Pérez, has had the objective of presenting the lines of work focused on Advanced Therapies and Biomedical Technologies carried out by the research groups of the Granada institute, as well as other groups from the environment with related research.
The symposium was inaugurated by the vice-dean of academic organization of the Faculty of Medicine, dr. Jose Juan Jimenez Moleon; the scientific director of ibs.GRANADA, dra. Maria Jose Sanchez; the managing director of the San Cecilio Clinical University Hospital, dr. Manuel Enrique Reyes, the manager of ibs.GRANADA and the Coordinator of the Area of Advanced Therapies and Biomedical Technologies of ibs.GRANADA, dr. Miguel Alaminos.
Researchers from all the institutions that make up ibs.GRANADA have participated in this scientific meeting, with sessions distributed in three oral communications tables. More than 30 posters have been presented by young researchers from ibs.GRANADA. Dr. Francisco Martín from the Gene and Cell Therapy group of the Pfizer Center – University of Granada – Andalusian Genomics and Oncology Research Council (GENYO) with the conference entitled “Viral vectors and genome editing, allies in the fight against cancer”, and the Dr. Natividad Cuende, belonging to the regional coordination of transplants, which has focused her intervention on the clinical translation of advanced therapy products.
This meeting, attended by more than a hundred professionals, has been a first-class opportunity to learn about the different scientific projects in the field of advanced therapies and biomedical technologies developed by the ibs research groups of excellence.GRANADA .
