The importance of hand hygiene: a workshop for future health professionals
Within the framework of the activities of the Science Weeks of the ibs.GRANADA, we celebrate the Hand Hygiene Workshop at the Faculty of Medicine in Granada. This activity, aimed at students of the Intermediate Degree Cycle “Auxiliary Nursing Care” at the CFI Reina Isabel, aimed to reinforce the importance of hand hygiene as a key measure in the prevention of infections in the healthcare field.
The workshop was taught by Maria del Rocio Olmedo Requena, Macarena Lozano Lorca, Carmen Amezcua Prieto and Maria Angeles Castillo Hermoso, researchers from the group E14-Preventive Medicine and Public Health from the ibs.GRANADA. During the session, participants received theoretical training on the risks associated with inadequate hand hygiene and learned the appropriate technique to ensure its effectiveness.
With a practical and dynamic approach, future nursing assistants were trained in the best hand hygiene practices, essential for their work in healthcare. This activity underlines the importance of adopting preventive measures to minimize infections and protect both patients and healthcare professionals.
