The Scientific Director of ibs.GRANADA María José Sánchez chosen one of the 100 most influential women in Andalusia by Forbes Women magazine

Forbes Woman magazine has selected Maria Jose Sanchez Perez, Scientific Director of the Biosanitary Research Institute of Granada (ibs.GRANADA), as one of the 100 most influential women in Andalusia, which includes women from all areas, from entrepreneurs to researchers, athletes or councilors in charge of town councils such as Granada or Marbella. From Forbes Women recognize the 100 Most Influential Women of Andalusia 2024, leaders distinguished with the most prestigious national and international awards who pave the way for future generations and who are committed to equality and their land, the Andalusian land.

Maria Jose Sanchez Perez

Scientific Director of ibs.GRANADA

Dr. Sánchez is Scientific Director of the Biosanitary Research Institute of Granada (ibs.GRANADA), principal researcher of a group of excellence of the CIBER of Epidemiology and Public Health (CIBERESP), of the PAIDI Research Group (Research in Public Health and Health Services) and professor at the Andalusian School of Public Health (EASP). Since December 2017 she is coordinator of the Epidemiology and Control of Chronic Diseases Program of CIBERESP. She is the eighth most cited researcher in the Spanish ranking that has been prepared the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) and Academic Director of the Specialization Diploma in Personalized and Precision Medicine of the Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs and the International University of Andalusia (UNIA). Sánchez Pérez, 57 years old, has been recognized with the Award for scientific career by the Science and Innovation Table of Granada in 2018, Gold Medal of the province in 2022 y Gold Medal of the city of Granada (2023)
