Researchers from ibs.GRANADA participate in a Canal Sur report on new genomic techniques in multiple myeloma

The Canal Sur program “ConCiencia” has dedicated a report to the work of the group A08-Immune Response and Cancer from ibs.GRANADA, whose researchers are also linked to the University of Granada and the Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital.

The report addresses the advances in the study of multiple myeloma, a blood cancer that affects plasma cells, and shows how new genomic techniques are making it possible to improve the diagnosis and prognosis of this disease.

From the laboratory of the Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital, the team uses advanced optical mapping and next-generation sequencing technologies to detect chromosomal alterations and DNA mutations with great precision, offering a comprehensive view of the tumor genome.
