Promotion of the Liquid Biopsy project for cancer diagnosis led by researchers from the ibs.GRANADA
The Andalusian Health Service (SAS) published a week ago the first two tender files for public procurement of innovation from the Junta and the Andalusian Public Health System, which have a maximum budget of 3,8 million. These are the tenders for the Asurant (Analysis of Microbial Susceptibility and Resistance to Antibiotics) and Liquid Biopsy (New Diagnostic System for Liquid Biopsy) projects, which aim to find innovative solutions for the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases and cancer.
Group researchers A06 - RADIOTHERAPIC ONCOLOGY of the ibs.GRANADA belonging to the Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital lead the Liquid Biopsy project.
The initiative has years of experience and international projection and can be key in the fight against cancer by trying to detect the disease with a blood test. This initiative aims to provide an effective and efficient response to the care of cancer patients through non-invasive precision tests that allow improving the diagnosis and prognosis of patients and the efficacy of therapies through the development of an analysis prototype. detection of biomarkers in blood.
Both Liquid Biopsy and Asurant are part of the Comprehensive Program for the prevention and control of infections related to healthcare and appropriate use of antimicrobials and the Comprehensive Oncology Plan of Andalusia. It should be noted that public procurement of innovation is a novel procedure in administrative contracting, which encourages innovation from demand and fosters the development of new innovative markets.
To do this, the first step is a consultation with the market that allows the design and orientation of possible developments. In this sense, the analysis and results of the preliminary consultations to the market that were carried out for these two projects have been key in the definition of the regulatory documents for the published tenders.
Liquid Biopsy has a maximum budget of more than 1,4 million, a lead time of 20 months and a two-batch configuration. Proposals may be submitted until September 21 of this year.
