Today in the ibs.GRANADA Science Week, Tissue Engineering and Low Back Pain stand out
Today we had two activities, firstly, Víctor Segura, María Dolores López and Gavriella Tsiarleston, group researchers TECE20-Rehabilita-T: Advances and innovation in rehabilitation and health promotion have held a workshop for users of the ORPEA Granada Residence and Day Center, titled “My back hurts, what should I do?” In this workshop, a detailed analysis has been carried out on how to address chronic non-specific low back pain, focusing on the recommended treatments and evaluating which of them have more solid scientific evidence. There has been an urgent need to implement multimodal treatment programs to effectively address chronic non-specific low back pain and, as an example, the HEALTHYBACK project has been presented.
On the other hand, Paula Ávila and Miguel Etayo, researchers associated with the group TEC03-Tissue Engineering, have given at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Granada, the talk “Tissues and organs on demand: discover our Tissue Engineering laboratory” to 4th year ESO and 1st year Baccalaureate students. IES Cartuja. In this talk, the researchers have shown the key aspects of Tissue Engineering, its applications within the field of medicine as well as the most promising results obtained by the Tissue Engineering research group. Subsequently, there was a tour of the group's facilities where the students had the opportunity to learn about the day-to-day life of the researchers as well as the most used equipment and techniques.
