HORIZON 2020 Increases its budget by 200 million
The European Parliament has approved an increase of 200 million euros in the budget for the Horizon 2020 Framework Program, in order to address issues such as the migration crisis, strengthening security or promoting economic growth and job creation. The distribution of the additional funds is as follows:
· 50 million euros for the European Research Council (of which 16,7 million euros were already included in the 2017 budget).
· 55 million euros for Spreading Science and Expanding Participation (of which 16,7 million euros were already included in the 2017 budget).
· 50 million euros for the European Innovation Council.
· 45 million euros for high-performance teams, low industry leadershipl (of which € 16,7 million was already included in the 2017 budget).
