MP23-Critical Pathology
Precision Medicine / IBS-MP23 / Emerging
Critically ill patients present particularities both in the facet of their clinical care and in the performance of research studies. The seriousness of his situation forces in many cases to make decisions quickly and with the participation of third parties (family members or legal representatives). Caring for these patients requires the collaboration of multiple specialists and professional categories, who must also participate in research activities, contributing their points of view.
The group is made up of health professionals who are dedicated to the care of these patients. The multidisciplinary vision is guaranteed as both doctors and nurses are members of the group. Likewise, there is collaboration with other groups at the local, national and international level.
Research lines
- Prevention of pressure injuries. COMHON assessment scale (patented by the group). Measurement package associated with the COMHON Scale (validation).
- Patient safety. Implementation of security rounds. Attention to the second victims. Attention to caregivers.
- Nosocomial infections in critically ill patients.
- Microbiota and resistome in the critically ill patient.
- Nutrition and metabolism in the critically ill patient.
- Technology applied to acute cardiovascular disease. Devices in cardiogenic shock.
- Nursing care of the critically ill patient.
