Epidemiology and Public Health / IBS-E09 / Emerging
To generate relevant knowledge to address emerging challenges in the healthcare system, promoting responsible technological innovation and the implementation of effective policies. Through a multidisciplinary approach based on scientific evidence, the group addresses these challenges from a "One Health" perspective, considering health problems in a holistic and sustainable manner.
Research lines
- Health innovation and technology adoption: Promote the integration and use of innovative technologies in the health system to improve the quality of health care and reduce health inequalities.
- Health technology assessment: Conduct studies on the effectiveness and efficiency of new health technologies to ensure their proper implementation in the health system.
- Policy evaluation: Analyze and evaluate health policies in order to identify their impacts and propose improvements that promote equity and efficiency in health services. Migration and health, climate change and vector-borne diseases.
- Evidence synthesis: Collect, analyse and synthesise available scientific evidence to inform clinical decisions and healthcare policies based on robust and up-to-date data.
- Knowledge transfer to clinical practice and health policies: Facilitate the transfer of knowledge and best practices from research to clinical practice and policy formulation, ensuring that scientific advances translate into concrete benefits for the population.
- Gender violence: Investigate the causes, consequences and prevention strategies of gender violence, with a special focus on its impact on women's health and well-being, promoting effective interventions and protection policies.
