Granada, headquarters of the Spanish Association of Statistics for Health
The University Hospitals of Granada welcome the constitution of the Spanish Association of Statistics for Health (AESA), based in the Virgen de las Nieves Hospital, whose objective is to establish collaborations between statistics professionals who develop their work in the field of health sciences, also including professionals from other related disciplines to provide quality to the statistical study of data collected in the health field and thus contribute to raising confidence in statistical methods and results.

In addition to cooperating with organizations and institutions that request advice from the same, disseminate statistical knowledge and improve the critical capacity of citizens in the face of statistical information, thus contributing to generate informed opinions for active participation in scientific, political, and economic debate. AESA is one of the institutions that have joined the celebration of the International Year of Statistics with which it is intended to bring statistical knowledge closer to society in general and the scientific world in particular. This association is registered in the National Registry of Associations Group 1 / Section 1 / National Number: 602296. The presidency is in charge of María del Mar Rodríguez, a mathematician attached to the clinical management unit of Preventive Medicine, Surveillance and Health Promotion of Granada. The founding partners are professionals with training in mathematics and / or statistics who work in the field of health sciences. Thus, there are representatives from the hospitals, the Andalusian School of Public Health, the Health Delegation, the FIBAO Foundation, the University of Jaén and the private company SEPLIN Statistical Solutions.
