Granada is among the 4 Spanish provinces with the best researchers, being the Andalusian province with the highest number of female researchers among the most cited in Spain.
In the case of ibs.GRANADA, our scientific deputy director, Maria José Sánchez, is among the 60 best researchers in Spain with an fh index of 1,15, being one of the top ten in the area of Oncology. He is among the Spanish researchers with the greatest scientific impact in the world within the area of Oncology. She is also director of the Granada Cancer Registry and has extensive experience in the design and development of epidemiological studies related to the aetiology, care and survival of cancer patients, having led and/or collaborated in more than 25 research projects in European, national and regional level. The results of these projects have been reflected in more than 100 publications in the last 5 years. In addition, he is the Coordinator of the Cancer Area of the Biosanitary Research Institute of Granada, where he leads a research group. She is principal investigator of a CIBER research group on Epidemiology and Public Health, of the PAIDI Research Group "Public Health and Health Services Research". She is president of the Spanish Network of Cancer Registries (REDECAN). As a teacher, he participates in and coordinates the University Expert in Epidemiology and Clinical Research and other courses related to cancer epidemiology, research methodology and population cancer registries.
This ranking is prepared from the incidence h, which is a system proposed by Jorge Hirsch, from the University of California, for measuring scientific quality, based on the number of citations that his scientific articles have received. Thus, a scientist has an h index if he has published h papers with at least h citations each.
Fh is the relationship between the researcher's h-index and the mean value of the h of the other authors present in the ranking of their area. If the author appears in multiple areas, mean Fh is the mean of these values.
