FECYT joins the ORCID community to promote the exchange of scientific information
The Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) has joined the ORCID community (in English, Open Researcher and Contributor ID) through a collaboration agreement, which both institutions signed on March 21, with the aim of to promote the exchange of scientific information on the CVN (Normalized Curriculum Vitae) and RECOLECTA platforms.
ORCID has an internationally recognized identifier that serves to link each researcher with their research activities. The ORCID ID number solves the problem of ambiguity in the identification of investigators. FECYT has already incorporated this author identifier to CVN and is working to implement it soon in RECOLECTA.
Among the advantages that being a member of ORCID entails for FECYT is the expansion of CVN data sources including ORCID and RECOLECTA as providers of curricular information, the use of the ORCID identifier in the URL of the CVN public profile or disseminating the work of RECOLECTA for the adaptation of the DSpace repositories (majority software used by Spanish and international repositories), among others.
