Event Details

On April 10, 2014, the Human Milk Bank of the Virgen de las Nieves Hospital in the city of Granada will host the VI National Meeting of Human Milk Banks.

This meeting aims to be a meeting point for all those health professionals who work day by day for the development of Milk Banks in our country.

Currently there are seven Milk Banks operating in Spain. The Spanish Association of Milk Banks, created in 2008, works to unify criteria and develop operating standards for these centers.

Donating milk is a generous and altruistic act by women that improves the health of sick neonates whose mothers do not have breast milk. The work of the Milk Banks is to ensure that this donated milk reaches the newborns who receive it with the best guarantees.

We hope that this meeting will be a new impetus to the work of the Banks. The contributions of speakers and attendees will make it possible.
