During the last 25 years, Dr. Swan's work has been linked to trying to understand the consequences of exposure to environmental pollutants - endocrine disruptors - on human health and the environment, developing new approaches in the analysis of the risk derived from this exposition. Among its lines of work, the development of markers of combined effect in epidemiological studies of different design and pathology that help to predict and detect subtle effects, many of them of late presentation, as a result of multiple exposures at low doses, in periods of special susceptibility, stands out. .
Currently, Dr. Swan currently works in the Department of Preventive Medicine at the "Mount Sinai" School of Medicine in New York, leading a multidisciplinary research group in which epidemiologists, biostatisticians, toxicologists, geneticists, and biologists collaborate.
