Context. The different professionals of the Medical Oncology Service of the San Cecilio University Hospital participate in the development of numerous studies and basic and clinical research projects, which aim to improve the diagnosis, treatment and prognostic assessment of cancer patients. In order to improve their participation in these studies, and to praise the role they play in achieving their objectives, we understand that specific training is necessary on the research techniques proposed for their development.
Organizing Committee. The program will be directed by Dr. Isabel Blancas López Barajas, FEA of the Oncology Unit of the San Cecilio University Hospital of Granada and Associate Professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Granada, and will be coordinated by Dr. Fernando Rodríguez Serrano , Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Granada and member of the IBIMER and IBS-Granada Research Institutes.
Objective. Update, deepen and acquire knowledge and practical skills in research activities complementary to clinical tasks in the field of Medical Oncology and health specialization.
Recipients. FEAs, MIRs, nursing staff and researchers in training in the field of Medical Oncology.
Contents. The training program is organized into 4 blocks of theoretical-practical content:
I. Oncology: Basic Principles and Oncogenic Mechanisms
II. New Therapeutic Strategies in Oncology
III. Markers of Prognostic Assessment and Response to Treatment
IV. Clinical Research Management of the Cancer Patient
Duration. 4 hours of theory, 20 hours of practical contact and 30 hours of tutored autonomous work.
