The value of the genogram and science in action: new activities of the ibs.GRANADA during Science Week
Science reached the youngest with the activity "Your laboratory in class", held on the morning of November 12 at CEIP Los Cármenes. Third-grade students had the opportunity to explore the microscopic world and carry out experiments with everyday materials, approaching science in a fun and practical way. Under the guidance of Sara Moreno San Juan, José Manuel Molina and Paula Sánchez Uceta, members of the Scientific-Technological Platforms of ibs.GRANADA, the students viewed preparations through a microscope and learned about the basic principles of laboratory work.
On the other hand, on the same November 12, at the Marqués de Mondéjar Civic Center, the talk was held Genogram and hereditary nephropathies, given by Rafael Esteban de la Rosa, researcher of the TEC14-Human Reproduction and Hereditary and Complex Diseases group at the ibs.GRANADA. The presentation addressed how the genogram can be a key tool to identify family risk patterns in hereditary kidney diseases. In addition, the importance of genetic counseling and healthy lifestyle habits as primary prevention strategies was highlighted.
