February 9th 2022

Joan Carles March will have eight researchers, including María José Sánchez, Germaine Escames and Olga Ocón

The world celebrates science and the free participation of women in it for yet another year. Thus, this Friday, February 11, is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The experts and researchers who will form the discussion table in the 'Salud a todo Twitch' program this Wednesday will talk about this, which can be seen on the purple channel of GranadaDigital.

The space hosted by the Andalusian School of Public Health (EASP) professor Joan Carles March returns to analyze the situation of women in science, the difficulties they have encountered along their path as researchers and how they have overcome them .

This Wednesday's broadcast will feature eight researchers: Germain Escames, Professor of Physiology; Maria Jose Sanchez, scientific director of ibs.GRANADA; Maria Jose Serrano, researcher of the liquid biopsy and cancer interception group at the Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital and at the Genyo center; the EASP teacher in Granada Maria del Mar Garcia-Calvente; Anna Maria Rivas, Professor of Nutrition and Bromatology at the University of Granada (UGR); the researcher at ibs.GRANADA Carmen Freire; Olga Ocon, specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology; Y Carmen Hidalgo-Tenorio, specialist in Internal Medicine and expert in Infectious Diseases.

Although in the last program of 'Salud a todo Twitch' Joan Carles March commented that this Wednesday they would deal with the subject of suicide, on the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the researcher wants to make a special mention and a tribute to all the women who struggle to advance in a field as important as science and to the girls who will one day also be part of this network. Therefore, next week the debate related to suicide will be held.
