The ibs.GRANADA researcher Pedro Medina receives the City of Science Award 'To the impact of knowledge'

Pedro Medina Vico, co-investigator responsible for the group Ae22-Cancer Genetics, Biomarkers and Experimental Therapies of ibs.GRANADA and the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the University of Granada, has received the City of Science Award 'For the impact of knowledge ', in recognition of the social impact of their research aimed at the study of cancer.

The main objective of his research is to advance in the knowledge of the molecular bases of cancer with the hope of alleviating the ravages caused by this disease. Of all his research, together with his group, it is worth noting his contributions to the study of lung cancer, hematological tumors and childhood leukemia.

The award received by this ibs.GRANADA scientist is one of the nine modalities that the Granada City Council recognizes with the 'Granada, City of Science and Innovation 2022' awards, aimed at encouraging the effort and contribution of the scientific community Granada in the achievement of the project of IFMIF-Donations which is going to locate in Granada "the most important scientific infrastructure in Europe, with a planned investment of more than 900 million euros, from which more than 1.000 people will work in the search for clean energy".
