Acceleration program for innovative projects in the Biosanitary field close to the market
Origin of the project
Innovation is one of the essential factors for the economic growth of the country, hence it occupies a prominent place in European and national policies. Its incorporation into the industrial sector is one of the keys to job creation, medium-term growth, productivity and ultimately the improvement of competitiveness. Innovation is, therefore, the necessary tool to respond to the needs and challenges that today's society demands. Likewise, the incorporation of innovations into the health sector is the best way to achieve excellence in healthcare and optimization of resources.
The increase in the last four years of industrial and intellectual property registrations in FIBAO indicates that the culture of knowledge protection is beginning to permeate researchers.
The continuity and increase of both the number of intellectual / industrial property registrations and exploitation licenses to the industrial sector is essential for generating economic return through technology transfer.
With this program, it is expected to consolidate the innovative culture, as well as to serve as valorization instruments that give the necessary impulse to bring the research results to society.
The search for strategic partners in the financing and commercialization of protected assets will be a priority objective for the achievement of this program. Despite the current research funding problems, it has been shown that the union of the public and private sectors is the key to getting translational research into society.
Program objective and requirements to participate in it
The main objective of this program to promote technological innovation is to create market products, transforming scientific knowledge into a business model and effective transfer of scientific research.
To achieve this objective, the selected projects will be evaluated by a committee of experts (scientists, entrepreneurs and investors), quantifying the valuation plan and the business plan.
This program aims to support the enhancement of research results that are close to the market and is aimed at researchers and health professionals attached to the Granada Health Research Institute (ibs.GRANADA) and / or the Andalusian Public Foundation for the investigation by the Biosanitary Investigation of Eastern Andalusia-Alejandro Otero (FIBAO).
