The ibs.GRANADA presents the report for the year 2023 at its annual Scientific Council

The Biosanitary Research Institute of Granada (ibs.GRANADA) held this Monday, July 1, the meeting of its Scientific Council in which it presented the results achieved in 2023 to the researchers responsible for the 70 research groups of the Institute. The meeting was inaugurated by the scientific director of ibs.GRANADA, María José Sánchez; the managing director of the Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital, María Ángeles García Rescalvo; the research director of the University of Granada, Sergio Navas Concha and Sarah Biel Gleeson, managing director of ibs.GRANADA.

At this meeting, the Scientific Directorate's report was presented with the actions carried out during the first half of 2024 and the 2023 Report, which highlighted excellence in biomedical research and the growth of the Institute in scientific activity and production.

Among the results achieved in 2023 by ibs.GRANADA, the increase in funding acquisition by 6% stands out, exceeding 19 million euros, with the Institute's researchers obtaining 136 new competitive grants in regional, national and international calls. international. In addition, 1.217 articles were published in indexed scientific journals, accumulating a total impact factor of 6.668 points. The quality of scientific production is increasing, with 49% of articles published in Q1 journals and 15% in D1. Likewise, 75% of scientific articles have been published in open access journals, underlining the Institute's commitment to the principles of responsible research and innovation. Achievements were also highlighted such as the application for 19 patents and the defense of 106 doctoral theses, half with international mention.

The Institute continues to promote scientific dissemination and collaboration with patient associations in Granada, reaffirming its commitment to scientific excellence and inter-institutional collaboration to improve the health of the Granada population.
