The ibs.GRANADA participates in the Festival of Scientific Dissemination in the bars of Granada
A dozen researchers will bring this subject closer to the public during three days with talks on neuroscience, astrophysics and bioinformatics
Granada hosts the 'Pint of Science' Festival for Scientific Dissemination from this Monday until next Wednesday, which brings together a dozen researchers in two bars in the city to approach topics such as neuroscience, astrophysics and bioinformatics.
In this way, professionals will address the impact of stress in pregnant women on their babies, black holes and dark matter, and how genetic data is worked with bioinformatics.
In the different events of this edition there will be live experiments and demonstrations, scientific monologues, shows or projections that will make the talks even more enjoyable. The bars in which the presentations will be held will be Lemon Rock and La Tertulia.
Speakers from research centers, universities and entities of the scientific community such as the University of Granada, the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia (IAA-CSIC), the Pfizer-University of Granada-Junta de Andalucía Genomics and Research Center will participate in this edition. Oncology (GENYO), the López Neyra Institute of Parasitology and Biomedicine - CSIC, the Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center, and the Biosanitary Research Institute (ibs.GRANADA).
Among the leading speakers are Rafael Caparrós, researcher of the group Ee12-HYGIA: Care and conditioning factors in health from ibs.GRANADA, who will address the impact of stress in pregnant women on their babies, Natalia Hidalgo, who will talk about the neuropsychological and brain consequences in women who have suffered gender violence; Guillermo Peris, who will talk about what the work of a bioinformatician consists of, and Julia Ereza, with her talk 'The dark side of the universe'.
There are 26 countries that this year make up the great team in charge of filling bars and venues with the most up-to-date scientific research on Planet Earth.
The Australian comrades will be the first to open the bars and toast to knowledge and its proper dissemination. With them and the rest of the host countries, a 3-day marathon of science and bars will begin.
