The ibs.GRANADA inaugurates its Science Week with an activity on Biotechnological Medicines
This first Wednesday of November, the Granada Biosanitary Research Institute has inaugurated its Science Week 2021 with the activity entitled "Biotechnological medicines: importance of their control in hospital use conditions", given by Dr. Raquel Pérez Robles, researcher of the research group TEC01 on safe practice in the use of medicines .
An informative talk has been held at the IES Juan XXIII of cartuja, in which first year high school students have been made aware of what biotechnological drugs are and their importance in the treatment of highly prevalent diseases such as cancer and autoimmune diseases. His main focus has been on protein biotech drugs. The importance of quality control of this type of drug to ensure its efficacy and safety in clinical use has also been made known. Practical examples will be given in an accessible way to any type of public of research work carried out in our group and research.
