The ibs.GRANADA closes the first of the Science Weeks with practical activities on biomedical research and responsible use of medicines
The ibs.GRANADA Biosanitary Research Institute has closed today. Friday November 7, the first part of its programming for the Science Weeks, with two activities aimed at students of Caja Granada School focused on scientific dissemination and health promotion.
On one hand, the head of the institute's Scientific and Technological Platforms, Paloma Muñoz Rueda, has delivered the activity “Science superteams: teams that work magic in the lab”, an interactive dynamic in which the students of 4th of ESO He competed by answering questions about the main equipment used in biomedical research laboratories — such as flow cytometers, confocal microscopes or thermocyclers — after a practical explanation of their operation and usefulness.
Next, the researchers Cristina Ballesteros Rubio, María Correa Rodríguez, Blanca María Rueda Medina and María del Rocío Gil Gutiérrez, of the group MP07–Basics of Pathophysiology and Medical Therapeutics, have developed the workshop “Medication with Awareness”, in which the students of 3th of ESO Through games and participatory activities, they have learned basic concepts about the correct use of medications, self-medication, and the most common forms and routes of administration. This activity will be repeated on November 12th and 18th for two more groups of 3rd year ESO students.
With these activities, ibs.GRANADA concludes the first of the two weeks dedicated to Science Week, an event that is bringing biomedical research closer to educational centers and promoting a scientific and health culture based on knowledge.
