Call for assignment of research groups. Biosanitary Research Institute of Granada.
The Biosanitary Research Institute of Granada is configured as a multidisciplinary research space with the participation of research groups from the San Cecilio and Virgen de las Nieves University Hospitals in Granada, Primary Care and the University of Granada, being open to the incorporation of groups belonging to other centers of the Public Health System of the province of Granada. Its objective is to develop and integrate biomedical, clinical and epidemiological research carried out by the different research groups that make up the Institute, promoting translational research with a better transfer of scientific advances obtained in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of priority health problems. Following the guidelines set out in the Agreement, signed on March 14, 2012, between the Ministry of Health, the Andalusian Health Service, the University of Granada and the Foundation for Biosanitary Research in Eastern Andalusia (FIBAO), on 17 July was constituted the Governing Council of the Institute of Biosanitary Research of Granada, formed by the Vice-Chancellor of Research and Scientific Policy of the University of Granada, Profa. Therefore, a call is made for the integration into the Institute of all the research groups of the Virgen de las Nieves and San Cecilio Hospitals, Primary Care and Centers of the Public Health System of the province of Granada and of the University of Granada that carry out health research, whether it is epidemiological, clinical or translational research and that they consider that this space for the concurrence of researchers and interests could help to a higher quality of their work and a greater social transfer of the results of their research, developing and enhancing the collaboration in a multidisciplinary scientific space.
To set up a research group, at least three researchers are required, led by a responsible researcher, with a common project developed over time. Three types of groups are called: consolidated groups, emerging groups, and associated groups. For joining the Institute, among other criteria, the group's publications, competitive projects granted and developed, patents, contracts, spin-off development and training of doctors within the group, in the period 2007-2012, will be taken into account, criteria will be evaluated as a whole. Regarding publications in scientific journals, the following is required:
- Consolidated groups: number of scientific publications in ISI journals> 20, cumulative impact factor> 50 and number of papers in the first quartile of the category> 10.
- Emerging groups: number of scientific publications in ISI journals> 10, cumulative impact factor> 30 and number of papers between the first and second quartiles of the category> 4.
To calculate the impact factor and quartile of the journal, the JCR classification should be considered according to the year of publication of each work.
