The Council of Ministers today approved the authorization to publish the two main calls for R & D & i projects, which will be financed by the State Research Agency (AEI) for a total amount of 622 million euros, 432 million in grants and 190 in credits for innovation.

The Council of Ministers has authorized this Friday to the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII) the call for granting grants for independent clinical research projects for the year 2019 of the Strategic Action in Health 2017-2020. The objective of this call is to answer relevant clinical questions for patients, their families and Spanish biomedical researchers. For this, 15 million euros will be invested in clinical research with advanced therapies (cell therapy, gene therapy and tissue engineering), orphan drugs, pharmacogenetics, reduction of resistance to antibiotics and study of pathologies that especially affect vulnerable populations, among other areas. Another goal is to ensure the sustainability of the National Health System (SNS) and to guarantee access to innovative high-priced drugs.

The European Commission has published the update of the Work Programs of the Horizon 2020 program for 2020. Among the published Programs is that of Social Challenge 1: Health, Demographic Change and Well-being through which they will be financed, with a budget of 660 million euros. euros, collaborative projects, complementary and coordination actions through different topics / themes.

The next Horizon 2020 Meeting aims to publicize European trends in financing R & D & I in Health, Demographic Change and Well-being (Horizon 2020) and the keys to improving fundraising.

Today the Resolution of June 5, 2014, of the Carlos III Health Institute, which approves the call corresponding to the year 2014 for the granting of subsidies of the Strategic Action in Health 2013-2016, of the Program has been published in the BOE.
