Dr. Basilio Gomez Pozo
Basilio has a PhD in Geographic Epidemiology from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, a specialist in Preventive Medicine and Public Health, and a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Granada. Since 2011 he has been working as a Primary Care Epidemiologist in the Metropolitan Health District of Granada, where he is responsible for the research area. Previously, he has been a research collaborator at the Institute of Health and Society of Newcastle University (2008-2010), a Primary Care Epidemiologist at the Andalusian Health Service (1994-2006) and a research collaborator at the Andalusian School of Health. Public (1992-1994). He studied "Introduction to Bioethics" (Newcastle University, 2007) and "Clinical Epidemiological Research Methodology" (Health Research Fund, 1988-1989). He has co-authored articles on the geographic distribution of bone cancer and its relationship to fluoridation of drinking water, as well as on the incidence of thyroid cancer after the Chernobyl nuclear accident.
