Antonia Aránega, the firm commitment to embryonic stem cell research
Antonia Aránega, from Granada, decided to put aside her specialization in Pediatrics and dedicate herself fully to biomedical research. When she was studying medicine, she was one of the few women who did. Aránega is professor of Human Anatomy and Embryology at the University of Granada and Researcher in charge of the research group Technologies Applied to Oncology and Gene Therapy of the Institute for Biosanitary Research of Granada. Pancreatic cancer and tumors of the nervous system are some of the diseases that his research group works on, as well as in the application of new technologies to research.
