2 awards Granada, city of Science and Innovation” for researchers from ibs.GRANADA”
Maria José Sánchez Pérez, Scientific Vice Director of ibs.GRANADA and head of the institute's Cancer Area, together with Darío Acuña Castroviejo, head of the D-01 group on intracellular communication, have each received an award in the second edition of the awards " Granada, city of Science and Innovation”.
In the category of "Scientific Career", Mª José Sánchez Pérez, has received the award, which underlines her extensive, recognized and outstanding professional experience in this field of knowledge, and which has been delivered by the sub-delegate of the Government Pablo García.
These awards were established in 2018 within the Roundtable for Science, led by the City Council of Granada, with the aim of "publicizing the importance of the efforts of the Granada scientific community", having submitted twice as many applications as in the first edition. The courtyard of the City Hall welcomed the delivery, which featured a fun performance
In the words of the mayor, Francisco Cuenca, with this initiative "the high quality of the scientific work that is promoted in the different institutions of our city is once again highlighted". The objective is, above all, "to make visible and project the work carried out in Granada and bring it closer to the public".
If the first campaign of the Table of Science was based on the figure and role of researchers, and the second, on basic research, on this occasion the emphasis has been placed on applied research and on how the results of Different studies "influence the daily life of citizens and what their contribution is to transform or improve the environment."
